This policy explains the refund, cancellation, and rescheduling rules for Language Monk LLC. Final plan details are confirmed before payment so students understand what they are buying before they begin.
Language Monk uses different first steps for different plans. The $30 Spanish Starter Sprint is a direct one-time checkout and includes a 15-minute coach/founder call that the student sets up with us after payment. Single lessons and weekly packs are one-time purchases made inside the Language Monk app, where the lesson credits are added to the student’s account. Monthly packs start with a coach call to confirm the student’s level, schedule, lesson rhythm, teacher fit, and start date before the student begins.
The $30 Spanish Starter Sprint includes a 15-minute coach/founder call, two 30-minute Spanish lessons, First Lesson Lifeline, Can-Do Checklist, Study Pack, and a simple next-step plan. Weekly packs have 30-minute and 1-hour options and do not include a coach call. Monthly packs have 30-minute and 1-hour options and start with a coach call so the lesson rhythm, teacher fit, and start date are clear before the student begins. Custom lesson prices are not public and must be confirmed in writing before payment.
The Starter Sprint, single lessons, and weekly packs are one-time purchases. Monthly packs are recurring subscriptions that auto-renew each month until you cancel. All lessons are valid for 1 year (365 days) from the date of purchase. Each monthly renewal adds that month’s lessons, which are valid for 1 year from that renewal.
Unused lessons may expire after one year. If Language Monk causes a scheduling delay, or if Language Monk confirms an extension in writing, the window may be extended fairly.
Starter Sprint lessons and single lessons are 30 minutes. Weekly and monthly pack lesson length depends on the pack selected: 30-minute packs use 30-minute lessons and 1-hour packs use one-hour lessons. Any custom lesson length must be confirmed before payment.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice and no-shows may count as used, unless the teacher approves a reschedule. Teachers are not required to approve short-notice rescheduling.
Missed lessons and late cancellations may count as used because teacher time, scheduling, onboarding, and materials are reserved for the student. Emergency situations may be reviewed by Language Monk case by case.
Language Monk offers a full refund within 48 hours of purchase if no lesson has been completed. After 48 hours, purchases are final because teacher time, scheduling, onboarding, materials, and lesson-use windows are reserved. If a lesson has already been completed, that lesson is not refundable. If Language Monk approves an exception, the exception should be confirmed in writing.
The Starter Sprint, single lessons, and weekly packs are one-time purchases with a set lesson window, not subscriptions. Monthly packs are recurring subscriptions: they auto-renew each month and the saved payment method is charged automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime to stop future renewals. Cancelling stops the next charge but does not refund the current month after the 48-hour refund window described in Section 7; lessons already added to your account remain available within their 1-year window. Cancellation terms are shown before payment.
Students should contact Language Monk quickly if there is a billing issue, duplicate payment, scheduling problem, or concern about the service.
